The “Walk Your Own Way” Campaign

UPDATE! We are now in Phase 2 of the Walk Your Own Way Campaign. We will switch over to doing lit drops of our doorhanger slate cards for people to take to the polls. Here is what they will look like.

Due to the effects of COVID-19, candidates, campaigns, and organizations are having to take a unique approach to their Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts. In the past, our main focus was canvassing, knocking on the doors of thousands of families all over southwest Houston. This year is different. Face-to-face conversations are now potentially unhealthy. Therefore, we have created the Walk Your Own Way campaign.

The campaign emphasizes contactless voter outreach in a series of “lit drops,” the leaving of printed information on the doors of homes. Because there is no face-to-face interaction, volunteers can choose to work their assigned turf at their own pace. You have the freedom to drop off the literature early in the morning, late in the evening, on the weekend, or little by little over the course of several days. All we ask is that you let us know when you’ve completed your assigned turf before the end date of the particular phase of the campaign.

We hope that you’ll choose to volunteer with us so that we can maximize voter turnout and education in our area. Volunteers from all locations and walks of life are welcome. If you are interested, please fill out our Volunteer Form and we will be in contact soon!
